This week we’ve shared part one of our two-part data series about how we use data in our creative process, and why it’s important to include it. 48 years later and we’re still trying to figure it out
A report was written in 1974 that outlined the consequences of our capitalistic economic system, and the impacts that we would face as a society/civilization/race (call us what you will) if we didn’t change our single-minded ways. Now, nearly 50 years later, not a lot has changed.
It feels like this is a topic that we touch on a lot with HUMAN, the need for change, and the looming consequences if we don’t, but it’s also something we feel strongly about, and want to keep pushing.
As a company, we’re in the process of applying for our B Corp status. We’re cleaning our partner and client list to have a more environmental focus. We’ve launched a Sustainable Digital Design platform and we’ve begun tracking the carbon cost of using our computers every day. And we’re composting in the office (to name a few). We know it’s not enough, given that we’re just one small company in a world of near-endless companies. But we have to do something, and we do it with the goal of setting an example that others follow.
We don’t want to constantly repeat ourselves here. But as we move further into summer (at least here in the North), and people start jetting around the globe, we wanted to put the thought in people’s minds in the hope that when you return from wherever you’ve been exploring, you might do so with a view of shifting focus within your business.

Envisioned as a ‘micro space,’ the project is designed by Kristian Talvitie with the spirit of progress and sustainability. The designer aims to ‘redefine sustainable travel by reducing the need for travel in the first place,’ all while bringing visitors closer to nature.
